JASON RAMSAY

Jason Ramsay BSc, CPA, CISA

Mr Ramsay is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor with approximately 16 years auditing experience. Mr Ramsay worked for a leading professional services firm for eight years, of which he spent three years stationed in North America.

Mr Ramsay’s main focus is Information Systems Auditing and Internal Controls. He has an extensive knowledge of IT Auditing and Internal Controls. Over his 16 years as an auditor, Mr Ramsay worked on several large regional and International clients. Mr Ramsay has experience servicing several financial services clients across the region and North America. Some of his larger clients are CIBC FirstCaribbean, Bank of America, RBS, Goldman Sachs, State Street. Mr Ramsay has also done work for the three largest credit unions in Barbados and several indigenous banks across the region.  

Mr Ramsay has extensive experience performing Internal Audits and Internal Control Assessments for large financial services entities; he has also performed several ITGC assessments and audited several technical platforms (Windows, Unix, and AS400). Additionally, Mr Ramsay has performed several Automated Controls Reviews, SAS 70 now SSAE 18 engagements, SOX Testing, Agreed Upon Procedures, Business Process Reviews, Journal Entry Tests and Project Audits.

Mr Ramsay currently performs IT Audits for the smaller auditing firms and conducts internal audits for a handful of offshore entities and a regulator. Mr Ramsay also consults for a large regional Bank. Whilst working for the Bank he has performed several internal audits, managed the implementation and closure of several technology deficiencies and performed information security risk assessments for several technology projects.  

Mr Ramsay is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, ISACA New England, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). In 2016 he served as the Vice President of the Barbados Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Mr Ramsay is also an avid volunteer and community servant. In the past, Mr Ramsay served as the Vice Chair of the Scholarship Committee for the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Currently he is the President of his community’s Sports Club. He enjoys reading, travelling, spending time with his family and playing golf.
